ABOUT US
Basar Boats
Where durability meets exceptional sea-keeping performance.
Basar Boats represents the culmination of many years of experience and countless hulls operating in Africa’s toughest environments. Our Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) are derived from a robust commercial and salvage range, perfected over decades in the harsh conditions of the Southern African coast. Featuring a deep-V hull for unmatched stability, these hand-made boats are ideal for serious boaters, scuba divers, and fishermen.
The hulls, hand-laid in our factory alongside the mighty Tugela River in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, are efficient, hard-working, and stable platforms. These boats have been used in rescue, commercial diving, salvage, and workboat sectors for the last 20 years. Basar Boats have adapted these tough hulls with deck layouts designed for serious leisure boaters in Australia, focusing on safety, stability, and adaptability.
Our wide-fitting pontoons are crafted from premium Mehler Texnologies Valmex PVC, providing maximum usable space and exceptional durability. Each hull is meticulously constructed using multiple layers of high-quality glass and resin, reinforced with a composite spider frame for superior rigidity and strength. This design ensures our boats can withstand repeated beach launchings and landings in the dynamic swells of the Southern and Eastern African coasts.
Once the hull is complete, it is transported to Durban for the fitting of hand-made pontoons using the finest heavyweight Valmex PVC material. This material, chosen for its weather resistance and ease of repair, ensures longevity and safety. Our skilled pontoon fitters have been building RIBs for 30 years, bringing decades of expertise to each boat.
Basar Boats combines these family businesses, who have been building boats for decades, to create vessels perfect for Australian conditions. With features like stainless steel fixtures, self-draining decks, and advanced navigation systems, Basar Boats ensures a safe, reliable, and enjoyable maritime experience.
